Long journey from Pennsylvania to Cisco, Texas
Approximately 6 years ago, while browsing on Ebay, we discovered an 1840’s 2-story log cabin. This chestnut beauty had been disassembled and was sitting in a warehouse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was originally located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania in the heart of Amish country.
After its cross country journey, courtesy of 2 eighteen wheelers, it reached its new home in historic Cisco, Texas. We had it resurrected in the front yard of our 1890’s Victorian home, nestled in the oak trees. It has been a long labor of love to restore it to its original glory. Where possible, we have used original or recycled material to complete the renovation. The stairs are original and the second story floors are all original. We left the third floor rafters exposed and used the floor boards as wainscoting for the addition of 2 bathrooms. To us, it is such an American treasure, we want to share it with you.
Details about our cabin
There are 2 bathrooms in the cabin. The downstairs bath has a footed tub that was originally in the Victorian home. The second bath upstairs has a shower for your enjoyment. There is a kitchenette with small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot for your convenience. The cabin will sleep up to 6 people. There is one King sized bed, twin bed, and if needed a roll away bed for your use upstairs. Downstairs the couch makes into a bed which will sleep 2 people comfortably.
At check in, you will receive a choice of 2 breakfasts which will be delivered hot to your door at 9AM each morning. Our goal is to make this a relaxing experience and we look forward to pampering our guests.
